グリーン島桟橋からボードウォークを島の奥へ進み約3分。オーストラリアで飼育されているワニの中で一番大きいとされている「カシウス君」をはじめ大小あわせて100頭近いワニやウミガメ、島の周辺に生息する熱帯魚達を水槽に展示したマリンランド・メラネシアはグリーン島の隠れアトラクションです。毎日2回餌付けショーや、子ワニとの記念撮影開催中。
Cassius – World’s Largest Crocodile in Captivity
Cassius has called Green Island’s Marineland Melanesia home since 1987 when relocated from Australia’s Northern Territory and is estimated to be at least 110 years old! At 5.48 metres long (17ft 11.75inches) he is a reputed man-eater! Cassius is fed regularly at the crocodile shows and quite often George Craig likes to feed Cassius personally and it’s quite amazing to witness the special connection he has developed with this incredible animal after nearly 30 years of being his caretaker. Crocodile Shows Twice Daily: 10:30am and 1:30pm See huge crocs at feeding time. You will also have the opportunity to hold a real baby crocodile – a fantastic experience and great photo!
